Thanks to one of the admins, whom I've sent a notice, THG is currently in a weak state. The site has been vandalized in numerous locations, and we're trying our best to fix it. I'll make another post once everything has been restored.

Due to the fact that Elmzran fails at keeping this site active, I have come up with an epic contest that should boost activity. The theme of the contest will be listed at the bottom of this news entry. Please note that your game CANNOT contain 18+ material. On UPDATE: January 10th, we will decide on the winner and that person will be displayed on the front page and will recieve a medal-thingy on their profile. To submit an entry, PM me (Jas0n) your submition here or here.

The requirments are:

-NO TUTORIAL RIPS

-No 18+ material.

-Must be finished and submitted by Dec 30th.

It's been about 3 weeks since the last news post. I'm really sorry that THG hasn't been update too much recently. I understand that more content MUST be added. For now, we have almost 80 games and tons of sound effects + graphics in those fairly new sections. I hope your able to find due with the content at hand right now, it might be a while before anything big happens.

That's the THG sub-domain community for my game, Planetoid 3. It's been sucking away all of my time, but the game itself is very good, and it will be the next thing to add here to THG, so you all can play it. The community itself is getting around 30-45 posts a day, in contrast to the 10 average a day here.

Well, it's been a while since much has happened here. Don't worry, THG won't die, but if you stop visiting, it will. I've been working with Planetoid 3 for a while now, it's my most current Game Project and it's been sucking away TONS of my time. I'm trying to get some of the other admins working on THG. I also plan to add a few more games soon, along with An Untitled Story. Thanks, and keep visiting! Updates will come soon.

◊  New Sounds Section, More Examples, More Sprites, More Games

More! It's been a while since our last update, and I think this one is overdue. During the past few days, me and some of the Admins have been adding more Examples, Sprites, & Games. Be sure to go to there corresponding sections to find them. We also have the new sounds section, which is MUCH better then our old one. In this new sounds section, you can find the exact sound effect that your looking for. Feel free to submit Sound Effects using the "Submit Something" feature!

I'm also currently trying to get permissions from Matt Thorson to add the epic game, An Untitled Story. It's an amazing Free-Roam Platformer that you're sure to enjoy.

â—Š NEW Submit Something Feature

10-26-09 -- Elmzran

THG now has a Submit a Game / Resource feature! It can be found in the Nav Bar on the left. Using this feature, you can submit a game, resource, sprite sheet etc. to THG and have the Admins review it. Once your file is added, a Private Message will be sent to you. If you've ever used the YYG Game Uploader before, then you should understand how this works. Please note that it's seperate from the Normal File Uploader, which is only used for sharing unofficial files with other users, and for whatever else you may find it useful. Enjoy the new feature!

I decided to update the Theme again. This time, it should be staying. The only thing that should complete it is a new banner, and a black static BG, or something that is also dynamic.

Also, we have plenty of new games. Go check them out in the Games section. They can be found at the bottom of the All Games list.

10-23-09 -- Elmzran

During the Past few days, I have been re-working the Game Development Section. It has had these Improvements.

- Game Maker Section Put into another Article to remove clutter.

- Sprites, Sound, and Music each moved to there own Major Category.

- Sprites area now called Graphics. Currently contains over 30 Sprite Sheets, and 50 Background.

- Work will start on the Music & Sound section shortly.

Also, the assistant admins are now in charge of adding games. This gives me extra time to work on different areas of the site, and some more free time. We also have a Top Sites now! Click on THG Top Sites to go there. If you own a website, you can add it onto the Top Sites.

We also have a Private Messaging system now. It's clunky, but you can still use it. I'll be trying to improve it over time.

â—Š New Game ( Best Game Maker Game of 2008! ) and New File Uploader

The Best Game Maker Game of 2008 was added just the Other Day. Iji. It's the current featured game, and I also have proper permissions from the creator ( Daniel Remar ) to have it on THG. It's an excellent game, and it shows the power and awesomeness of GM. Play it, now. And make sure to DOWNLOAD it, DO NOT Instant Play it, since the file is rather large, and the Instant Player may not keep your saved game. And you want to keep your saves.

We also now have a new, excellent, simple file uplader! The limit has officially been fixed and increased to 100MB per file, Unlimited Files. It's also clean, and you can upload TONS of different types of files! Just remember not to upload any malware / viruses, or obscene content. The files are not private though, so don't upload anything you don't want others using.

Admins, this will also now give you the power to add games to the site. I'll write a tutorial on it for you guys.

10-13-09 -- Elmzran

A New Game, Virtual Silence, was today. You can find it in the Featured Games Section also. It's a very surreal game, made by the same creator of Seven Minutes. It requires lots of thinking in order to achieve the hapy ending. And, like Seven Minutes, it has 3 endings. One Very Sad, One Neutral, One Very Happy. The Very Happy ending requires some out of the box and patience in order to get it. The ending is also quite suspenseful. I could feel my self sweating as I was progressing through the suspenseful part.

Anyways, New Official THG Tutorials are coming soon! We already have an extensive list layed out for them. They should be able to help somebody who knows NOTHING about Game Maker get on Par to my Skill Level with Game Maker.

Some Site Glitches have also been fixed, and the Game Counter has been updated. Were also on Google! Just Type in "Tasty Ham" and one of the most common searches will pop up as "Tasty Ham Games" Pretty neat, huh? Remember to keep on visiting, and tell your friends about THG.
